MEGA
Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2
Season overview
Cyberpunk and Neo-Tokyo
Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2, titled "MEGA," launched on March 10, 2023. This season introduced a massive cyberpunk and neo-Japanese aesthetic to the southeastern corner of the map. The storyline centered around the Peace Syndicate, led by Thunder and Evie, working to maintain control of the island against rival factions. A defining feature of the season was the introduction of Grind Rails in MEGA City, allowing players to skate along neon tracks while shooting and healing. The loot pool was highlighted by the Kinetic Blade, a katana that offered a dash attack for incredible mobility, and the Havoc Pump Shotgun, a devastating close-range weapon whose Mythic variant could eliminate fully shielded opponents in a single shot. The season was also heavy on major anime and pop-culture collaborations, most notably bringing Eren Jaeger and the omni-directional mobility (ODM) gear from Attack on Titan into the core gameplay.

Map & POI Changes
Landmarks, locations and changes that shaped this season.
The southeastern corner of the map was completely replaced by a new Japanese-inspired biome. The centerpiece was MEGA City, a sprawling cyberpunk metropolis featuring skyscrapers and neon Grind Rails. Other new POIs included Steamy Springs (a traditional hot spring resort), Kenjutsu Crossing (a martial arts dojo), and Knotty Nets. A floating Loot Island also spawned mid-match, offering high-tier weapons for capturing its point.
