Flooded Map and Deep Sea
Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3, titled "Deluge," launched on June 12, 2026. The climatic war between the Ice King and The Foundation during Season 2 ended with the catastrophic melting of the Frigid Fortress, causing a massive flood that submerged the lower elevations of the Golden Coast map. Players had to adapt to a completely waterlogged environment, utilizing new Scuba Tanks to dive underwater, loot sunken Vaults, and engage in aquatic combat. Drivable Submersibles and heavily armed Jetskis replaced traditional cars. The Rivalry system from Season 2 was retained but updated with a bounty board format. The Battle Pass embraced a deep-sea and pirate aesthetic, culminating in a highly anticipated crossover with SpongeBob SquarePants, bringing the citizens of Bikini Bottom to the Battle Royale island.

The Golden Coast map was heavily flooded. Frigid Fortress melted and sank, becoming Sunken Stronghold. Squibbly Shores expanded into a massive floating flotilla called The Driftwood. A new underwater POI, the Coral Casino, could only be accessed using Scuba Tanks or Submersibles.
How it played
Gameplay & Mechanics
Underwater combat was introduced via the Scuba Tank item, allowing players to dive deep, swim faster, and shoot aquatic weapons. Whirlpools returned for rapid vertical mobility. Submersibles (two-seater subs) and weaponized Jetskis became the primary vehicles. The Rivalry System was streamlined into Aquatic Bounty Boards.

The loot pool introduced the Harpoon Assault Rifle (which worked identically above and below water), the Depth Charge Launcher, and the Trident Melee Mythic. The Heavy Sniper Rifle and Tactical Shotgun returned. Chug Splashes were replaced with Seafoam Splashes.

Live Event / Finale
As the season progressed, the water levels slowly receded each week. The season concluded with a mini-event where the receding waters revealed a massive, dormant alien spacecraft buried beneath the center of the map, teasing the theme for Season 4.
