Marvel Superheroes and Doctor Doom
Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4, titled "Absolute Doom," launched on August 16, 2024. Following the destruction of the pipeline in the Wasteland, Doctor Doom harnessed the residual power of Pandora's Box to establish his own sovereign territory on the island. Marvel heroes, alongside Fortnite originals like Hope and Captain Jones, rallied to stop his conquest. This season marked the second time a Battle Pass was entirely dedicated to Marvel. It introduced a heavily Marvel-themed loot pool, featuring powerful mythics like War Machine's Arsenal, Captain America's Shield, and Shuri's Black Panther Claws. Gameplay heavily revolved around aerial combat and mobility, with Hover Jets dominating the meta. A unique mechanic introduced mid-season was the Isle of Doom, a floating island that occasionally spawned in place of standard Loot Island. Securing it allowed one player to transform into a massively overpowered "Doom's Chosen" boss with 500 health, 500 shield, and devastating magical attacks. The narrative culminated in a spectacular live event where players teamed up to defeat a colossal Doctor Doom.

The northeast corner of the map was conquered by Doctor Doom. New POIs included Castle Doom (a massive gothic fortress), Doomstadt (a Latverian-style village), and The Raft (a maximum-security Marvel prison). Memorial statues of the Fantastic Four, defeated by Doom, were scattered across the map.
How it played
Gameplay & Mechanics
Medallions returned, dropping from bosses (Doom, Mysterio, Emma Frost) and granting Siphon, Stealth (crouch invisibility), or Reveal abilities. The Isle of Doom randomly replaced the standard Loot Island, allowing a player to capture the Cauldron and transform into an incredibly powerful Doctor Doom with unique magical abilities.

The meta was completely dominated by Marvel mythics: War Machine's Arsenal, Hover Jets, Auto Turret, Captain America's Shield, and Doom's Arcane Gauntlets. Iron Man's Combat Kit and Shuri's Claws were added later. New core weapons included the Dual Micro SMGs, Sovereign Shotgun, and Monarch Pistol. The Striker Burst Rifle was unvaulted and highly popular.

Battle Pass
The 100-tier Battle Pass was exclusively Marvel-themed. It featured Gwenpool (Tier 1), War Machine, Peelverine (a Peely and Wolverine mashup), Emma Frost, Captain Jones (equipped with Captain America's shield), Mysterio, and Shuri as Black Panther (Tier 100). The secret unlockable skin was Doctor Doom.

Live Event / Finale
Doom's Defeat. On October 5, 2024, a massive live event occurred where an enlarged, colossal Doctor Doom attacked the island. Players fought back using Iron Man's repulsors, successfully destroying Doom's armor. Hope delivered the final strike, shattering Doom and saving the island.
