Fortnite Sprites: Complete Beginner's Guide

Learn what Sprites are, how to find them, how variants work, and how upgrades, abilities and drop chances fit together.

Sprites are one of the most useful systems to learn in the current season. This guide breaks down the collection from first pickup to rare variant.

What Are Fortnite Sprites?

Sprites are collectible gameplay companions that can provide abilities, bonuses or other effects depending on the Sprite family and variant.

Each Sprite family can have one or more variants, and those variants may differ in rarity, appearance, unlock requirements or special effects.

How to Find Sprites

Sprites are found through Fortnite's current seasonal systems. Availability depends on the active season and the specific Sprite family. Some Sprites may be common while others can be extremely rare.

  • Check the current season's Sprite list.
  • Compare rarity and drop chance before hunting.
  • Use FUNAGLET filters to view only the current season.
  • Do not treat an unknown drop chance as 0%.

Sprite Families and Variants

A Sprite family is the main Sprite identity. Variants are alternate versions of that Sprite.

  • Base
  • Gold
  • Cheat Master
  • Loot Hacker
  • Other variants from previous seasons, where applicable

Sprite Abilities

Many Sprites have a gameplay ability or passive effect. Abilities differ by Sprite family, so choose Sprites based on the type of advantage you want.

Upgrading Sprites

Some Sprites can be leveled or upgraded. Upgrades may improve an existing effect or change how powerful the Sprite becomes.

Drop Chances

Drop chance is the percentage probability associated with a Sprite or variant. Lower percentages mean rarer results.
