Fortnite Chapter 1 Season 1
Visão geral da temporada
The original release of the Battle Royale mode.
Fortnite Battle Royale officially launched as a free-to-play 100-player PvP mode on September 26, 2017. Epic Games had begun experimenting with the Battle Royale concept only a few months earlier, with the Unreal Tournament team developing the mode while the main Fortnite team continued working on the original PvE experience, Save the World. Epic combined the Battle Royale format with Fortnite's defining building and destructible-environment mechanics, creating a distinctive gameplay formula. The first version of Fortnite's Battle Royale island was much simpler than the maps that followed. The game lacked many of the elaborate locations, environmental variety, and visual identity that would eventually become associated with later seasons. Players dropped from the Battle Bus, searched for weapons and supplies, harvested materials, built structures, and fought to be the last player or team standing. Progression was also very different from modern Fortnite. There was no Battle Pass in Chapter 1 Season 1. Instead, Epic introduced a Season Shop, where reaching particular Season Levels unlocked the ability to purchase specific cosmetic items with V-Bucks. The original Season Shop included the Aerial Assault One glider at Level 5, Aerial Assault Trooper at Level 15, Renegade Raider at Level 20, and Raider's Revenge pickaxe at Level 35. Season 1 also introduced some of Fortnite's earliest progression and customization systems. Epic added Season Levels, daily challenges, banners, an Item Shop, and the Locker as the game began developing its long-term progression model. By modern Fortnite standards, Chapter 1 Season 1 was extremely simple. There were fewer locations, fewer weapons and items, limited customization, and a much smaller progression system. However, it established the basic Battle Royale formula that Fortnite would continue expanding through regular updates, new seasons, live events, map changes, and cosmetic systems.
