Flipped
Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 1
Visão geral da temporada
New World and Winter
Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 1, titled "Flipped," launched on December 5, 2021. Following the spectacular "The End" event where the Chapter 2 island was physically flipped upside down, players were introduced to Artemis, a brand new island map featuring diverse biomes and the hidden headquarters of The Seven. This season fundamentally modernized Fortnite's movement and gameplay. Epic Games introduced sliding, which drastically increased the speed and fluidity of combat. The loot pool was completely overhauled, most notably featuring the MK-Seven Assault Rifle, the game's first fully automatic weapon to feature a first-person red-dot sight. Additionally, players could now find and equip Spider-Man's Web-Shooters, offering some of the most dynamic and universally praised mobility mechanics in the game's history. Season 1 also introduced "Victory Crowns," a prestige mechanic where winning a match awarded a crown that could be worn into the next game, unlocking a special "Crown Royale" victory and an exclusive emote to track consecutive wins. As the season progressed, the heavy snow that initially covered half the map slowly melted, revealing classic returning locations like Tilted Towers. The season was a massive success, revitalizing the player base with its fresh mechanics and the highly anticipated arrival of Spider-Man.

The fan-favorite Tilted Towers thawed from the ice mid-season. Dynamic weather systems (massive tornadoes and lightning storms) were also introduced.
