Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 2
Visão geral da temporada
War and Zero Build
Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 2, titled "Resistance," launched on March 20, 2022. The Imagined Order (IO), led by Doctor Slone, drilled through the island to wage an all-out war against The Seven for control of the Zero Point. In a shocking twist that fundamentally changed the franchise forever, the season launched with all building mechanics completely disabled. To compensate for the lack of defensive structures, Epic Games drastically overhauled the core movement system, permanently introducing Tactical Sprinting, Mantling (climbing over ledges), and a regenerating Overshield. The "No Build" experiment was wildly successful, bringing back a massive influx of lapsed players. In response, Epic made it a permanent, separate mode called "Zero Build" shortly after classic Battle Royale was restored. The season progressed as an active, shifting warzone. The map was divided by territory lines, and players funded armored vehicles and weapons to help The Seven push the IO out of various POIs. The narrative culminated in the spectacular "Collision" live event, where players worked together to pilot a rebuilt Mecha Team Leader, destroying the IO's massive Doomsday Collider and ending the war.

Map & POI Changes
Landmarks, locations and changes that shaped this season.
The map was divided by red and blue territory lines that dynamically shifted as The Seven reclaimed POIs from the IO. Massive IO Airships (Blimps) hovered over enemy-controlled zones and could be raided for loot. Command Cavern became a heavily fortified IO base. The Fortress, a massive mobile drill, was introduced. Later, the IO constructed The Collider, a massive, pulsing doomsday device near Loot Lake.
How it played
Gameplay & Mechanics
The building mechanic was completely removed for the first nine days of the season. To compensate, new permanent parkour mechanics were added: Tactical Sprinting, Mantling, and shoulder-bashing doors. An "Overshield" was also introduced, providing a rechargeable 50-health shield on top of base health/shields. Funding Stations returned, allowing players to deploy Armored Battle Buses.
