Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3
Visão geral da temporada
Jungle and Ancient Ruins
Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3, titled "WILDS," launched on June 9, 2023. Following seismic activity at the end of Season 2, the center of the island collapsed, revealing a massive, ancient, and overgrown jungle biome hidden beneath the surface. This season shifted combat to vertical, rugged terrain where players utilized the dense canopy, giant mushrooms, and rideable Raptors to navigate the map. A major new mechanic was Mud, which allowed players to slide faster, avoid fall damage, and gain camouflage from thermal scopes. The loot pool was updated with jungle-appropriate weaponry, including the Kinetic Boomerang and the Thermal DMR, alongside the heavy-hitting Cybertron Cannon crossover weapon. The narrative focused on Slone (who survived the Collision event) and the explorer Lorenzo investigating the ruins of The Apparatus, a massive ancient telescope. The season also featured massive mid-season collaborations, bringing iconic franchises like Futurama and Jujutsu Kaisen to the Battle Royale island.

Map & POI Changes
Landmarks, locations and changes that shaped this season.
The center of the map (formerly Anvil Square) collapsed into a massive crater containing the Jungle biome. New locations included Rumble Ruins (a massive ancient temple), Creeky Compound (an IO/research base), and Shady Stilts (a village built on the water). The canopy above the jungle featured giant mushrooms and zipline-like Grind Vines.
How it played
Gameplay & Mechanics
Mud was introduced as an environmental hazard and buff; sliding in mud provided a speed boost, extended slide distance, and hid players from thermal tracking. Rideable Raptors returned and could now be hatched from eggs. Grind Vines replaced Grind Rails in the jungle. Bomb Flowers, Stink Flowers, and Slurp Plants could be shot for various area-of-effect impacts.
